The brother of Anthony Kevin Morais, Datuk Richard Morais said his brother was a law-abiding person.

“He was a very straight person, a no nonsense DPP,” he told reporters when met at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Wednesday where Morais’s remains were brought for identification and forensics process.

“He is a guy who went by the law only and was committed to his job. I’m sure you all know his character,” he added.

He said everybody now knew that Morais's murder was related to a case he handled.

"He was a very quiet and secretive person. He doesn't share it with his family members. His job comes first," he said when asked if Kevin shared his work matters with his family.

When asked if Kevin received any threats because of his work, Richard said, "I don't know. My brother was too secretive. He never wanted to share his work with the members of family."

Meanwhile, former Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, who came to pay condolences to Morais' family, said Morais was a very good officer who performed his duties well.

“We trusted him to do a lot of important cases. That goes without saying because he was appointed as the deputy head of the Appellate and Trial Division in the Attorney-General's Chambers," he told reporters.

“He was a good man,” Abdul Gani added.

Morais's body was found following the arrest of seven men in Rawang and other areas in Klang Valley, almost two weeks after he was reported missing.

Initially categorised as a missing person, police later said Morais was abducted before he was murdered.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said Morais' murder could be related to a corruption case in Shah Alam courts involving a military medical corps doctor.

Morais was the prosecutor in the court case that took place some two weeks ago.

Morais was last seen leaving his condominium unit at Menara Duta, Kuala Lumpur on Sept 4, heading for his office in Putrajaya.
