Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow is the winner of the Padang Kota state seat.

He defended the seat he's held since 2008 with a majority of 7,116 votes against Perikatan Nasional's H'ng Khoon Leng.

A total of 62.02 per cent of the 15,165 registered voters cast their ballots today.

The Penang DAP chairman said during the state election campaign that this would be his last term as Chief Minister, Member of Parliament and Member of Parliament.

Separately, Pakatan Harapan's Teh Lai Heng is the official winner of the Komtar state seat.

He won the seat with a majority of 7,844 votes against Perikatan Nasional's Cheah Kim Huat who got 1,435 votes.

A total of 68.98 per cent of the 15,532 registered voters in the seat cast their ballots today.
