JOHOR BAHRU: Pakatan Harapan (PH) has proposed the establishment of five bipartisan select committees in the Johor State Assembly.

Johor State Assembly opposition leader Liew Chin Tong said the proposed select committees included those on Good Governance and Integrity; Climate Change and Urban and Rural Planning; and Johor-Singapore Cooperation.

The others are on Rejuvenating Federalism and Empowering the States; and Economy and Wellbeing of Bangsa Johor.

Liew, who is also the Perling assemblyman, said it was important to build bipartisan cooperation to bring Johor forward and ensure the interests of its people were always given priority.

"On behalf of the opposition, I have written a letter to Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi to propose the establishment of these bipartisan select committees," he said in a post on his Facebook today.
