The national football squad has yet to find the rhythm required, said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

"They have not found the rhythm to be successful in the AFF Cup. Numerous player changes made by (Datuk) Ong Kim Swee resulted in a rather not so interesting game play yesterday," he said when commenting on the performance of the national team in an international friendly match, Causeway Challenge, between Malaysia and Singapura last night.

In the match, which took place in Singapore, Harimau Malaysia could only manage a scoreless draw.

The Causeway Challenge was part of preparations for the national squad to face the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup which starts on Nov 19.

"Although, we did not lose, ball possession was dominated by Singapore. I feel we were fortunate not to lose yesterday. I hope we can see better tactical play from the national team, especially with the AFF Cup around the corner," said Khairy.
