Selangor state government will not reconsider the cancellation of the Damansara-Kinrara Highway (Kidex) project, made during the state executive council meeting on Feb 16.

Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the resolution to cancel the project had been confirmed in line with the state's government jurisdiction pertaining to land development and approval of any project planning.

He said the decision was consistent with the state government's stand to take a decisive action against the developer's failure to meet the conditions that had been set before in ensuring the welfare of the people of Selangor.

Hence, the Selangor Town and Country Planning Department had been instructed not to take into account all matters related to the proposed development of the highway when drafting the Selangor Structure 2035, he said in a statement Friday.

On Feb 16, Mohamed Azmin announced the cancellation of the Kidex project following the Kidex concessionaire's failure to comply with three conditions set by the Feb 14 deadline.

These included an independent Traffic Impact Assessment, Social Impact Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment to prove thet they are beneficial to residents.
