Tan Sri Annuar Musa has decided to cancel his meeting with University of Auckland vice-chancellor, Professor Stuart McCutcheon scheduled to take place tomorrow.

He said that the cancellation was a gesture of respect after the decision to suspend him from his duties as chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) and Pelaburan Mara Berhad

Annuar, who is currently in New Zealand on Mara official visit, is expected to return home on Thursday.
“I am currently overseas on Mara official duties. Today, I had just finished a meeting with Yayasan Saad College and Queenstown Recreational College (Otago University) and scheduled to leave on Thursday.

“I have cancelled the programme out of respect of this decision,” said Annuar in a Facebook post, today.

He admitted that he had never been summoned by Mara Council members or the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob following an investigation by Mara internal auditors into several matters including the PMB and Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) sponsorship of the Kelantan football team, The Red Warriors.

“I didn’t know about the special meeting held this morning and I was not notified about the issue and have not been officially asked about any issue,” he said.

Annuar said he was only informed of the suspension by Mara director-general Datuk Ibrahim Ahmad and Mara council member, Datuk Dr Yusof Yaacob after the meeting this morning.

A meeting with Mara council member is scheduled to take place on February 14 where several issues will be discussed.
