The second reading of the Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC) 2020 Bill scheduled at the Dewan Rakyat today has been postponed to the next session.

The postponement motion was tabled by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said after the winding up on the Sales Tax Act 2018 by Deputy Finance Minister 1, Mohd Shahar Abdullah.

“According to Standing Order 62, DR 12/2020 which is stated as item number five in the Order Paper today, for second and third reading has been postponed and would be brought to coming session,” he said.

Yesterday, the IPCC 2020 Bill was tabled for the first reading at Dewan Rakyat by Ismail.

The bill is aimed at having the provision to set up an independent commission and to enhance the integrity of the police force and to reduce misconduct among police personnel as well as to build the confidence of the people on the police force.
