ALOR SETAR:Kindness Malaysia, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), is collaborating with several car wash centres in the state to offer jobs to those who have lost their source of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Its chairman, Mohd Azrul Mohd Razak said through the collaboration, the car wash premises have agreed to hire these groups to work as car washers to help them to generate income.

"We took the initiative after receiving applications from 200 families who require assistance from Kindness Malaysia's food bank.

"Every day, around two to five families will come and request for help, with many of them mentioned that they have lost their source of income," he told Bernama here, today.

For a start, Mohd Azrul said 10 to 20 individuals would be offered the jobs and if there is an encouraging demand, then the initiative would be expanded to the homeless people and other individuals.

He added that the salary payments were subjected to the agreement between the applicants and car wash owners, and some of them even willing to provide accommodation for their workers.

Those interested to apply for the car washer job can contact Kindness Malaysia at 016-7074798 and attend a brief interview via a telephone call.
