The Foreign Ministry said today there is no report of Malaysians affected by the shooting incident in Orlando, Florida, in the United States, which claimed the lives of 50 people.

"Early reports indicate that there are no Malaysian casualties," it said in a statement today.

It said Malaysia strongly condemned the shooting.

"The Government of Malaysia extends its condolences to the Government and the people of the United States of America, and particularly to the families of the victims," it said.

The ministry said the Malaysian Embassy in Washington D.C. would continue working closely with the authorities in Florida for further updates on the incident.
