Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya said the temple at the Bulk Cargo Terminal (BCT) compound which was demolished would be rebuilt after getting the agreement of all parties involved.

He said the site for the reconstruction of the temple on a plot of land belonging to the Penang Port Commission (PPC) had also been identified.

"We are only waiting for the agreement from all quarters for the reconstruction of the temple. We have already chosen the site for the temple which is one kilometre from the factory area beside the PPSB perimeter fence. When everyone have agreed, we will start construction work.

"Construction of the temple should be further away to avoid danger. In the past six months, there had been two instances of gas leakage and if a fire breaks out, it could cover a radius of up to five kilometres. The new site is safe," he told reporters, here today.

He disclosed this to reporters when asked to comment on the reconstruction of the temple which was raised by R.S.N. Rayer (DAP-Seri Delima) during the debate in the State Legislative Assembly sitting today.
