Three-time champions Thailand booked their slot in the final of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 after demolishing the Philippines 3-0 in their semi-final second leg match at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, on Wednesday.

The War Elephants advanced to the final on a 3-0 aggregate after the fist leg ended in a goalless draw at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila on Saturday.

Thailand went ahead as early as the 6th minute when Chanathip Songkrasin fired home a piledriver from inside the penalty box.

The 1-0 score stood still half-time but on resumption, Thawikan Kroekrit doubled the advantage for the Thais in the 57th minute.

More misfortune befell the Filipinos, coached by Thomas Dooley from the United States, when they had to play with 10 men after Martin Steuble picked up a second yellow card in the 82nd minute.

Kroekrit sealed victory for Thailand with his second goal four minutes later.

Thailand will meet either Malaysia or Vietnam in the two-leg final which will be played on Dec 17 and 20.

Malaysia, who lost 1-2 to Vietnam in the semi-final first leg match in Shah Alam on Sunday, will be playing the second leg at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on Thursday.
