The family of Mohamad Thaqif Amin Mohd Ghaddafi is unhappy with the Ministry of Health Malaysia for not informing them the results of the second autopsy report.

The family claimed they only knew about it through media reports.

Mohamad Thaqif's mother, Felda Wani Ahmad said she was frustrated because before this, the family was kept informed of all the procedures performed on her son.

However, she said, they were not informed officially yesterday when the medical report was released.

“I was supposed to be informed first. They should call us to the hospital to collect the post mortem report and not release it through the media,” she told reporters at her house at Ulu Tiram, Johor.

“I was calm, not that I was not. I just want to know why I was not informed before releasing the medical report to the media. I am not satisfied by this,” she added.

The report yesterday revealed that Mohd Thaqif had died because of leptospirosis or rat urine disease, and not from injuries allegedly from beatings by his school’s assistant warden.

Meanwhile, Felda Wani said the report was unacceptable.

She said the family will hand over the details to their lawyer who is handling the case for further actions.

Mohamad Thaqif was hospitalised on April 19 for injuries on his legs after he was allegedly canned by the assistant warden of the religious school.

He slipped into a coma after both his legs were amputated by HSI doctors the day before in a desperate bid to prevent infection to tissues and blood cells in his body.

He died on April 26.
