KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth and Puteri Umno yesterday launched the ‘Jom Daftar Vaksin’ campaign to disseminate information on the importance of the COVID-19 vaccine and encourage the public to register for the vaccination under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme.

Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said apart from giving information through the counters set up in public places, public talks would also be held by young doctors to answer questions about the vaccination from the public.

“The campaign will be held nationwide and starts today,” he said when met during the campaign launch under the Setiawangsa parliamentary constituency near the Tasik Sri Rampai night market here yesterday.

Malaysia launched its National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme on Feb 24 in phases, where 500,000 frontline workers are expected to receive the vaccine under Phase 1, scheduled to complete in April.

Phase 2 of the programme will begin from April until August for senior citizens aged 65 and above, high-risk groups and people with disabilities while Phase 3 is from May 2021 to February 2022, for those aged 18 and above.
