National badminton superstar Datuk Lee Chong Wei is close to capturing his fourth super series title so far this year after making it to the final of the Singapore Open.

In his semifinal match at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, the World Number One defeated rising Indian player K. Srikanth in 21-19 and 21-18, according to the tournament's official website www.singaporebadmintonopen.sg.

Awaiting Chong Wei in the final on Sunday is Simon Santoso of Indonesia who upset Du Pengyu of China in 16-21, 21-17 and 21-17.

Chong Wei has already picked up the Malaysian Open title (January), All- England (March) and Indian Open (earlier this month).

The Badminton Association of Malaysia did not field any women's singles players for the tournament this time around which offers total prize money of US$300,000 (RM966,932).
