This visit marks the first time a Minister of Human Resources has proactively engaged with CUEPACS, demonstrating a commendable effort to understand the union's concerns and discuss pertinent labor issues.
CUEPACS welcomed Steven's initiative and concerns for the well-being of workers.
"The Minister's decision to personally visit the CUEPACS headquarters reflects his commitment to connect with the labor force and address issues directly.
"This proactive stance is a notable departure from past practices, signaling a positive shift in the engagement between the Ministry of Human Resources and workers' unions," said President Datuk Adnan Mat in a statement.
CUEPACS pledged continued support to the Minister, particularly in the three core areas he emphasized – strengthening welfare, enhancing skills, and increasing worker productivity.
As CUEPACS looks ahead, the union anticipates a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Human Resources to bring about meaningful improvements in policies that positively impact the working population.
